A lucid vase holding one red rose
The tender heart of little girl
She stumbles up, dries off her dress
As her misty blue eyes stare at the
Shattered vase on the floor
Break or shatter the vase
Lingers the smell of the rose
The smell of the rose will never fade
Confusion and despair in her eyes
Quietly she ambles to wake her mother
To tell of the shattered vase
Tearfully lying beneath the shutter
Break or shatter the vase
Lingers the smell of the rose
The smell of the rose will never fade
Her mother gently pulls a petal from the rose
Drying the despair from the girls misty eyes
Explaining; if your heart drops and shatters
Your love will always linger
The odor of true love will never fade |

Look back, do not
Peace and tranquility should now be sought.
People change and disappear,
Too short is life to dwell on that year.
Smell before you taste,
Bury it in a resting place.
Search to be found, you will find,
Sanity and answers in your mind.
Dignity is not but an illusion,
Further look beyond confusion,
A world in which bones lie free.
Relief is yours, love throughout eternity.
Step you may, but watch and learn,
Or in yourself forever burn.
Wrinkled and old the world will grow,
So will your life if the skeleton you don't let go.

Immortally burn, fearlessly,
Deliver whispers of my intentions
To the abject of my yearning, swiftly.
Clever candle,
An honorable ally you are,
Burning brilliant and determined.

Mommy, please tell me
What is happening to the world.
Will there be love and happiness
When I grow up?
Will I be able to go out and play?
Or will I end up like that boy
On the news today?
Please tell me why everyone
Hates each other.
I heard about that man who
Killed his brother.
Where do all of those kids go
That disappear day by day?
I saw another one on that card
We got in the mail today.
Mommy, I just say NO
So why does that man keep asking
Me if I want some snow?
It's a good thing that I know my phone number
And address too,
There is no telling what he might do.
When I grow up, it would probably
Be better to die and go to heaven
Then try to live in this world
At the age of seven.
